Litter Control, Investigation & Enforcement Section

 

Durham County has its own Litter Investigator on staff.  The job of the litter investigator is to identify the litter generator who litters highways, vacant lots, dead end street and anywhere people illegally dump.

Those persons found dumping litter will be prosecuted by the Durham County legal system.  The purpose is to keep Durham clean and beautiful.

Residents observing illegal dumping are urged to contact the General Services Litter Investigator at (919) 560-0437.
